General Description:
The kitchen assistant reports to the head chef. Daily, they are responsible for preparing, heating, and completing the cooking of food. Additionally, the kitchen assistant must perform any tasks requested by the head chef to assist kitchen staff in preparation or service. They may be called upon to perform any other related tasks necessary for the smooth operation of the residence.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Assist the head chef in meal preparation;
- Prepare and verify portions before distribution to servers;
- Wash and peel fruits and vegetables;
- Unpack and store provisions in refrigerators and cabinets;
- Clean work areas according to company standards;
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment;
- Work in a structured manner while minimizing unnecessary movement;
- Handle various kitchen equipment with care;
- Adhere to safety measures in place;
- Comply with MAPAQ regulations;
- Support dishwashing as needed.
